Solar Powered Bird Flat

The Solar Powered Bird Flat captures the spirit of the Alley Flat Initiative by using affordable building materials (cedar and pine) and displays resourcefulness and efficiency though the use of solar energy (solar powered LED night light). A Bird's House

A Bird's House

Birds create homes from found objects. They take discarded materials and weave them to create their living environment. While we all have marveled at the beauty of these nests we still tend to think of the bird house as a small wooden box. My concept was to take the stereotype of a small wooden box and blend that with a birds nest woven from objects found in their environment. This is what I came up with.

High Density Living

Julia's self-taught watercolor originals first went on display to the public in 1996 at Austin's Wally Workman. Julia's "Rarejules" art business showcases her unique combination of pen-and-ink with vibrant watercolors. Capturing her whimsical personality, these works combine animals and architecture. This work is her first attempt to bring this signature style to the third dimension.
